Our mission is to support Afghan artisans and showcase a side of the country overlooked in the media.
Due to decades of conflict, the most extraordinary aspects of this country and its people remain unseen. We’re changing the narrative from one of war to unwavering resilience. We cast a different light on the Graveyard of Empires, one that highlights the beauty and craftsmanship that exists in the nation.
All our jewelry and packaging is handcrafted in Afghanistan, giving us the opportunity to directly support the livelihood of Afghan artisans. From the radiant blue Lapis Lazuli mined in the Hindu Kush Mountains to the talented hands that craft each piece, we offer a glimpse into Afghanistan’s culture and the incredible artistry that exists there.
Our pieces are packaged in complimentary jewelry boxes hand carved by the woodworkers of Turquoise Mountain, an NGO that trained more than 5,000 artisans in traditional arts and restored 150 buildings in Murad Khani, the old city of Kabul.
One of our workshops is located in the Murad Khani Bazaar. It is owned by a graduate of the Turquoise Mountain Institute. Play the video below for a 360 view of the bustling bazaar, courtesy of Turquoise Mountain.
